Who we are
InArte. Projects of Cultural Integration is a non-profit cultural association funded in 1998 by Ilaria Mazzotti and Andrea Farė. It organizes and implements educational activities for children and adults in the fields of music, dance, theatre, art, expression in general, in order to discover and develop the expressive potential of each individual, rather than to train professional musicians or artists.
We have been working particularly in schools, together with the operators of the institutional educational sector, and, since 2004, we have also been managing our own music school in Forlė.
Our aim is to spread the knowledge and practice of non-verbal languages, as we believe that they can better the quality of education and human relationships. Children can know themselves and the others better through them, hence they can strengthen their self-confidence and capacities, in order to feel and be considered as individuals with a unique identity and personality... And say all they have to say! It is so common that those who are closer to children considered "difficult" (or less understood?) are surprised by their "unexpected exploits" in music or art; they judge their kids by their results at school or their behaviour in certain contexts. They do not know that it is just their "creative self" eventually showing up! That is what we are interested in nourishing, helping, supporting, guiding!
Through our work we also intend to search and experiment new approaches and ways to promote intercultural dialogue and respect of diversities. Intercultural dialogue needs to be based on a deeper awareness of what we are in the first place; only after knowing better what we are, we can then establish an equal dialogue with the others, meaning dialogue as a relation that can be carried out without words as well. Art is the most powerful language for this dialogue, especially with young people.
Our dream is to keep on walking on this path, and find other people all over the world who share our view and ideas.
Music Courses
Accademia InArte offers music courses for kids of all ages: for the younger ones we also have music propaedeutics courses, through which they can better understand which instrument to play when they will be older.
We also have courses for adults, with no need for previous music experience: parents, pensioners, teachers, whoever will discover the pleasure of learning music within an informal and welcoming environment.
1. Baby music
The course introduces babies aged 0-3 to the world of sounds through voice and body, that will be used to produce melodies and rhythms and enrich their expressive potential.
Enrolment open all year round.
2. Playful music
The course introduces children aged 3-6 to the world of music, in particular to timbers and melodies, by means of stories and games. It is a mix of songs, dances, rhythms and use of music instruments. It is addressed to kids who have never played an instrument or do not know anything about music, but feel curious about it. Children can try several instruments (guitar, piano, flute, trumpet, trombone...) in order to better understand which one is for them, with the help of the teachers and with a playful approach.
Enrolment open all year round.
3. Music courses for children (from 7 years old up), kids and adults
Since 2004 we have been offering music and singing courses for all, experienced or not!
Classes can be individual, in couples or in a group.
Ensemble music meetings (once a week) are included in the instrument/singing path as fundamental part of our vision. We believe that music is communication, it is a language, and carries a message around; that is why we plan our music courses in a personalized way so that it is possible to attend both the instrument/singing course and the ensemble meetings. We also have an instrument rental service for those who do not buy their own.
Enrolment open all year round.
Other courses
We have implemented several creative paths for children, adults, teachers, parents and grannies who wish to discover their creative self and find a mental and physical balance.

School activities
InArte has been addressing its school activities to students and teachers since 1998, with the goal of enriching their training through the practice of creativity.
Our proposals are characterized by a strong attention at direct learning and experiencing of artistic disciplines for a deeper socio-cultural integration.
Families of extra-European origin are more and more present in European societies and the number of children from these families is increasing in our schools. We have been watching the difficulties arising from integration, dialogue and cohabitation problems within several educational and social contexts where we work. This situation, along with mental or physical handicaps or other social issues, has been pushing us to favour feelings of mutual acceptance and respect since the very beginning of childhood. Art and music can renovate our civic awareness in a more immediate way.
ACTIVITIES IN ALL SCHOOL ORDERS:
PRESCHOOL: Projects of music propaedeutic and expressive languages (motion and art).
PRIMARY SCHOOL: Projects of music propaedeutic, theatre and percussion instruments.

Other activities
Our extra-school activities are highly experimental.
We have created a CENTRE where children and adults can let their imagination out through non-verbal languages, not intended as a music, dance, painting or theatre "school", but as a SPACE and a TIME for creativity.
Our goals are not professional, nor do we intend to channel people's inspiration into methods or techniques.
We rather like to guide people into a path of self-consciousness raising, in order to let them discover their own creative self, and be able to express themselves with music, colours, materials, mimicry, voice, body.
1. ART CENTRE: Let's Play with Arts (since 2000)

Since 2003 we have been organizing this summercamp for all the kids who are in town in the summertime and want to play and discover other peoples and cultures through a fantastic journey in the five continents. The summercamp is addressed to children aged 3-14 and is open from Monday till Friday from 7,45am till 5pm. In 2007 we will explore the culture and society of the Ancient Romans through arts, music, singing, stories, games and dances.
